Arts & Culture: Threads of a New Tradition

Join the Arts & Culture committee as we visit the home gallery of Percy Vatsaloo, who has been involved in the founding of a weaving team in his adopted village in North-East Thailand.  The project created work for local women, who now earn a fair salary creating new designs from traditional weaving techniques.

This morning event, entitled “threads of a new tradition”, will explain the weaving project and also introduce us to a variety of antique objects in the gallery such as lacquer-work, basketry, and silver. Some pieces from the owner’s private collection will also be on display.
