AWA Board members are elected by general membership vote each year in May, at our Volunteer Appreciation AGM.
The nominations process is managed by a Nominations Chair and Committee, drawn from the general membership. The committee also includes the President, GM & Historian from the current board. The committee spends January to March looking for and interviewing candidates. They also host a Leadership Coffee in February for anyone keen to learn more. The committee recommends a slate of officers to the existing board in April, and then to the General Membership at the AGM in May.
The time commitment varies but is approximately 5 days a month in February and March. This is a great way to be involved with the organization of AWA over a limited time frame. If you think you can help with this committee, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
