PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Happy Holidays!

This month mark your calendars for the AWA Thanksgiving Picnic on Sunday November 24th from 12:00pm-4:00pm at Stamford American International School. In partnership with The American Association, we are very pleased to be able to offer an even bigger event this year! There will be games and crafts for the kids, a performance by the SAIS choir, a lucky draw for individuals donating items to the food drive and a free Thanksgiving themed photo booth. Even though you may be far away from home, don’t miss your chance to enjoy a very special Thanksgiving with the AWA community.

In December join us for one of my favorite events, the Holiday Luncheon on Friday December 6th at the Shangri La Hotel. With a delicious three-course meal, wine and beverages this is an event not to be missed! We will also have several vendors providing perfect last-minute gifts to share with family and friends. It’s truly a lovely afternoon full of shopping, eating, laughter, and spreading holiday cheer.

If this is your first holiday season in Singapore, do not despair. Great care and extensive planning go into turning the Orchard area into a spectacular array of holiday spirit. With a new theme each year, lights and decorations will be strung out across the entire length of the street and all the malls will be featuring their own version of holiday decor. What better way to experience this than to come on the Holiday Lights Bus Tour on Saturday December 7th. This is a wonderful event that brings together families and friends to enjoy the holidays in true Singapore style.

Looking at everything that AWA has to offer throughout the year, I am constantly reminded of how many women volunteer their time and put forth a tremendous effort to make the AWA what it is. Your ideas, your innovations and desire to give back to the community are what make the AWA such an amazing community. With all that each of you do every day for your groups and activities, the AWA continues to be a successful organization for all women, from all walks of life.

So for this holiday season, I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to all of our members who are new to the AWA, those who have been with us for a short time and those who have been members for quite some time, you ALL are what make our organization special.

Whether you travel this holiday season or you stay in Singapore, I wish you and your families the merriest of holidays.
