Running Around Singapore…And Beyond!

The Running Group is only days away from getting on a plane and participating in the Phukethon 2019! This event is one of Asia’s major international marathon festivals and some of our teammates will be running either a 10k or half marathon. We have trained hard since the end of the summer and now we will enjoy ourselves and get to know Phuket since the race has us starting close to the Surin Circle Clock Tower, past the Golden Dragon Statue, around Old Phuket Town and along the shores of Ma Kham Bay.

There is always a mix of fun and hard work that goes into preparing us for a race! Getting to Phuket was only possible by training around the different parks and streets of Singapore as well as attending a talk in September titled Getting Race Ready which was given by two coaches at Levitise. We also had fun at our annual Welcome Back Lunch which was graciously hosted by Din Cat at the BBQ area of her condo in September. The fun only continued in October when we had a Runner’s Night Out planned by Vanessa Victoria and Qian Marquard.

Runners enjoying coffee after their run at the Botanic Gardens

We welcomed several new runners to the group after participating in an extremely successful Welcome Fair. This season saw us welcoming Kate Breslin, Kimberly Raynor Smith, Ellie Doyle, and Christi Elflein. In a short while they have embraced our group and have been a wonderful addition to an already energetic team.

Thinking about joining us? You’ll be surprised at the wonderful and dynamic group of women who enjoy running almost as much as drinking coffee at the end of every run. We meet every Tuesday at 8am at the Botanic Gardens. Please email Marangeli Wouda to let us know you’re coming:
